God damn.

It's been far too long. Things are going well, still living with my partner, we're moving in 6 weeks to a bigger place, so thingsa re kinda hellish at the moment. Don't know what else to say on that, my family think she's great, I'm just a little bit happy. Plus we have a cat called Totoro! He's about 6 months old, jet black and is lovely.

What else?

Turn 26 very soon, though I prefer being a 20-something over a teen any day.

Was made redundent just after Christmas (which was fun - my girlfriend was sick on my moms floor, haha). Anyway, the job market in this end of the country is rather slow at the moment, so I'm having to have an iron fist on my finances - plus my girl is getting no money, she's battling Social Security to get her Disabled Living Allowance restarted and back dated, which was also stopped just after Xmas. Reason being they've ignored the doctors sick notes taking her to July time and said she's fit for work. Problem is, she has arthritis and is at a crucial point - if she takes it easy, she'll have the pain and maybe a walking stick, and that's it. If she over does it, as the DSS want her to do- she'll end up in a wheelchair.

Luckly, it's drawing to an end, she's got two appointments this weeks with the doctor who's written the DSS an arsey letter telling them to pay up and evidence in form of 2 full reports by the end of next week. *whew*

Got excited this morning, my copy of "The Phoenix Tree" EP by Mono (Japanese Post-Rock- my favourite band in the whole wide world) arrived today. Limited to 900 copies, this makes me very very very happy. And yes, it's awesome.

Current Music: Untitled II by Desiderii Marginis
It's been far too long.

Good evening world. Finally the winter descends and Shadow wakes up for the first time in a long itme. Let me update you:

First of all, I have a girlfriend and we're living together. (Yay! Basically we met through someone else who liked me, spent the evening drinking to liters of vodka then bam)
Ive changed my job. Just temping at the moment, waiting to hear on a job with a telecommunications company atm.
Ive recently started Krav Maga and Muay Thai. Ive done several styles in the past, and am getting tothe stage where I'll settle on a couple for good. (Though KM is a self-defence system, not an MA)
Music:Ive worked on a fair bit and getting ready to stick some on the Net. Not sure if I'm going to post a link hear. I also need to think of the top ten albums of the year, I'm having trouble for '06.
Uni: Didnt happen. SLC messed up, and I thought I couldn't manage without a student loan - so JUST as I talk myself into going, I meet my current girlfriend. I took a gamble, I choose the girl, I'm stupidly happy. Yay. (again)
Music II: Recently found Desiderii Marginis has previewed some new material (called Untitled II). Its beautiful - he seems to have evolved his working with a greater empathsis on music but still keep the whole dark ambient/soundscape vibe going- the beats remind me of old school industrial porjects as well (which is a good thing). If the rest of the new album is anything like this - it's going to be killer. Fact.

Thats about it - going to the mothers withthe girl, its going to be a big one, as shes just bought a new one way up north - so she's moving as soon as the contract goes through.

Take care and all that jazz.

Just gotten back from our rock/biker pub, a few things to note:

There was a lot of fine ass there. MMMMmmmm.
I'm feeling very aggressive atm.
Had a good night out.
Most people can't dance. Doing a 2 step with hands on your hips and putingt your hands through your hair on occasion is NOT dancing. It makes you look like a cheap whore from Bangkok.
Shadowskill likes beer
Shadowskill still has 3 cigars left.
Roll on two sundays+mondays time. MMmm.

This week musicwise, it's all about Low. "Things We Lost in the Fire" and "The Great Destroyer" are cracking albums. Check 'em. Now.

Current Music: Droney distortion from Reason 3.0
Quick update:

  • I get 16MB broadband on the 7th of June, until then, my Net time is rather limited. Boo!
  • From then I will be live one the following games: Anarchy Online, World of Warcraft (Europe) and Matrix Online. Guess what games I like?
  • I went out from 18:00 on Friday to 08:00 on Saturday. Felt like I was 16 again, haha.
  • I've been making some real progress with my.... "music"..... of late. 2 tracks done in the past week. One is just an awesome layers/ramped droney distortion affair- I can't describe it any better, but it's one of the best things I've done. (Theres an art to playing with distortion, kids)
  • My mom, bless her, likes the aforementioned tracks. Awwww!

Work was so good yesterday, I ended up teaching Japanese to people. Yes, we were sat around. Hell, you pay me £16.5K a year to sit around on a lot of days, and I'm happy to do it.

Tomorrow: Last coat of paint for new bed room.
Tonight: Finish 3rd character on different server Newbie Island for AO. Zoe- I'll be good to go next week, just playing with a few characters (Including another NT...). I'll let you know.

Next week.. 16MB Broadband is mine. MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

    Good things about the week:
    Moving/decorating new flat.
    Turning 25.
    Awesome presents.
Having my name on the birthday card from mom.
Looking at building a new PC in the next few weeks- got my eye on a Dual Core/Dual graphics card set up. Currently deciding on AMD or Intel..... (after reading benchmark tests... swinging towards AMDs atm..)
Start my 3D Studio Max course, and Advanced Photoshop course soon. Yay!

    Bad things:

Shit from the next door neighbour and 5 of his mates- for the sole reason of being a "rug munching dyke". Cue my lights being cut, front door being kicked, a lot of homophobic abuse (plus the lovely shout of "we're going to gang rape you, you slag"). And oh, the best thing, fire- as in through my letterbox and shit. Add the police into the mix, 2 people from the complex have been evicted and that was the first few hours of my birthday. PLUS the intercom in my room is fucked, so I had to call security on my mobile phone.

I've been asked why I didn't get out there and break someones face.

Now, it would've been awesome to do it there and then- if only for shock value of someones teeth flying out infront of his knuckle dragging mates(and hell, if you're around 5'10, I can hit you in the throat. With my knee. Go figure)

However, 6 against one are not good odds, and I would've had my ass handed to me. If I was Sonny Chiba or Tony Jaa then maybe I would've unleashed the fucking fury. Whatever the case, I was waiting in my my lounge during the kicks to my door and calls to the police ("Don't worry, there's a door in the way" "YES THERE IS. And they're trying to FUCKING kick it in. You really thing it's going to fucking hold with 6 guys behind it?"), fully expecting a fight. (Speaking of Ong Bak- interesting note: most the kicks in Ong Bak are Tae Kwon Do based- something which I've flirted with in the past, and is rapidly becoming my main focus).

Man, I sound like some bullish tomboy dyke who looks for fights. Truth is, I'm not at all. I've had problems with the neighbour and his friends before PLUS the agency whos taken over the rentals a while ago doesn't ask for references and the like from new tenants anymore, so it's been going down hill- hence why I've moved.

Repeat for the record : I am not a violent tomboy dyke who likes a good fight. However, I am prepared to defend myself, should it come to that.

The weekend was a mixture of being great, and utter arse. But I don't want to go into the latter.. It really was that shit.

    HOWEVER:

I preordered my PS3 today from my local game shop, so I'm a little bit excited. Roll on Nov 17th. Please. Now. Please.

I already have a 360, not keen on the Wii (or whatever), so might not be picking that up.

    Woowoowoo!

    Update time:

Work: Got a promotion, managing 10 people now. Extra pay = awesome, but they know I'm looking for another job anyhow. I only fell into my role by mistake anyhow.

Life: Is pretty good at the moment. Still on a long weekend, then back to the grind tomorrow. Also confirmed in writing to do Multimedia/Japanese for my degree. The only thing I gotta wait for is funding confirmation. Fingers crossed.

Highlights: Seeing a late showing (23:00) of Silent Hill, then walking home 4 miles from the cinema as no buses run on that route after midnight. It was pissing down with rain, and the moon was out. Perfect.

Anyhow, it was fucking awesome. Yes the script/acting is wooden, but hell- if you've played the first game, you'll realise it's bizarrely accurate. My only real gripe was Sean Beans voice... what the hell was going on there? Cause it's beyond me. And the best bit was the cinema was full of these spookykid malgoth types- quite obviously underage. Now the fact that they jumped a load of times and let out the odd shrink sealed the night for me.

Future plans: Tonight will involve beer, chinese and copious amounts of Moan and Axis of Perdition. I sense some PS2 or 360 action as well.
